The Surprise Spa Renunion.

My new year’s resolution is to be better to myself. To eat better, exercise more and that will probably go out the window around the end the January. But what I have done recently is something totally different. I have planned a reunion with some dear old friends and we are going to a spa.
My friend Joan gave me this idea, she plans to go away every year with some girl friends and she doesn’t tell them where they are going. They all meet at a mall and they load luggage into who ever has the largest vehicle drive together to the mystery place. A great idea and I am doing the same thing.
The spa I have chosen to surprise my friends is the Americana Resort and Spa in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The Senses spa there is luxe and as their goal is to offer affordable pampering. Great spa treatments without huge prices! This Niagara treasure is tucked inside this resort, which is famous for it’s water park.
We are shown to our two bedroom suite that allows us to all be together for our stay. We had a relaxed dinner at Jack Tanner’s Table, and good seats at the Americana Resorts’ own, House of Comedy. The next morning we read of the morning paper and had a gourmet Timothy’s coffee, then we were off to the spa. I had booked the signature treatment called Sous La Pluie. My therapist Christine gave me an incredible exfoliation treatment followed by a coating of massage balm and then I was massaged under a warm rain shower. I had final coat of moisturizer smoothed all over. My dry skin never felt so good. I was off across the hall to meet with Annette for a Hydradermie Facial.
I can only tell you that I had 85 minutes of sheer bliss and yes, I fell asleep.
My skin felt and looked amazing and it truly was one of the best facials I have ever had. Annette’s gentle and soothing touch did more than I expected.
This getaway felt like I had been away for a week rather than a weekend. We had so much fun, talking and laughing and catching up with each others lives. On the way home we promised to remember the code of the road, what happens at a girl’s weekend stays with the girls. Until we all get together next time that is!
